English Language Camps & Courses
2008
Camp 1: 8 June - 21 June
Camp 2: 22 June - 5 July
Students may attend both camps, if desired.
Camps are for second level French schoolboys, 13 to 17 years of
age.
Full academic, cultural and sporting
programme.
Three hours English lessons a day. Emphasis on communication skills.
Students are prepared and entered for
the TIE

Camps consist of English classes and personal tuition, cultural, sporting
and recreational activities organised in Gort Ard and around Galway:
football,volleyball, basketball, tennis, orienteering, hiking &
swimming: There is also a full-day excursion weekly to places outside
of Galway, for example to the Aran Islands, Connemara, the Cliffs
of Moher or an outdoor adventure centre.
Full board accomodation is provided in Gort Ard in shared or single
rooms.
A small number of students may be placed to live in host family accomodation
at the discretion of Gort Ard and in consultation with parents.
Some activites will be organised with the participation of Irish students
and will be orientated alternately towards English or French. While
at other times, students will be left to mix freely, making friends
with each other and learning from each other.
The fee envisages students arriving on Sunday. English classes begins
on Monday morning. The camp finishes on Friday night of the second
week with an end of course party. Students are expected to depart
on Saturday.
Additional days will be charged extra. For students who may wish to
come earlier in June and attend some classes of English, we can provide
a cost on request.
English Language Courses 2008
From 6 July until the end of August, Gort Ard provides full-board
accommodation for students of any nationality who wish to attend English
classes in one of the language schools in Galway. We can provide advice
and facilitate booking, where desired. There will be no classes organised
in Gort Ard.
