English Language Camps (for
second level students) & Courses (for internatonal
students)
Camp 1: 13 - 26 June (for French students)
Camp 2: 27 June - 10 July (For French & Spanish students)
Camp 3: 11 - 31 July (For Spanish & French students)
Camps are for second level schoolboys, ideally
13 to16 years of age.
Full academic, cultural
and sporting programme. Three hours of English lessons a day.
Emphasis on communication skills. Students are prepared and entered
for the TIE:
Test of Interactive English
Examination and Certificate - www.tie.ie
Camps consist of English classes and personal tuition, cultural, sporting
and recreational activities organised in Gort Ard and around Galway:
football,volleyball, basketball, tennis, orienteering, hiking &
swimming: There is also a full-day excursion weekly to places outside
of Galway, for example to the Aran Islands, Connemara, the Cliffs
of Moher or an outdoor adventure centre.

Full board accomodation is provided in Gort Ard in shared or single
rooms.
A small number of students may be placed to live in host family accomodation
at the discretion of Gort Ard and in consultation with parents.
These Camps are being organised in parallel with French / Spanish
Camps for native English speakers. There
are separate classes in the mornings and combined activities in the
afternoons and evenings.
The fee envisages students arriving on Sundays. English classes begins
on Monday morning. The camp finishes on Friday night of the second
week with an end of course party. Students are expected to depart
on Saturday.
Additional days will be charged extra.
English Language Courses for international
students
From 20 July until the end of August, Gort Ard
provides full-board accommodation for students of any nationality
who wish to attend English classes in one of the language schools
in Galway. We can provide advice and facilitate booking, where desired.
There will be no classes organised in Gort Ard.
